TOPIC: My Two Cents

I thought that the format of this last weeks class was real good.
Im referring to the "musical chair format". Big circle with 4 in the middle rotating in and out to practice lead breaks.
Everybody is different but I think I do not benefit from having extra time to practice in an individual group setting. All it does is give me x-tra time to think and that's ususally conterproductive; It's certainly true when it pertains to banjo playing and probably true in other areas of my life. Anyway, I liked the format; any other opinions out there?

yeah, it was really fun to watch the changes in group dynamics and overall sound with every switch in players.

Yeah, I liked it, however when he said for me to switch with "Godbless" I thought he meant for me to take her "fiddle"...yep! I panicked!!!

I liked the exercise of cutting in and out of the group as well. It makes you pay attention to the timing and where you are in the progression of the song. I certainly need work on that and this was a good tool for that. The other aspect of the class, prior to that, where one instrument would start the song and then others would join in at different intervals helped a lot too. It really added something new and interesting to our class. Thanks FM!

Looks like I'm missing out on some realy good stuff!! I'll see y'all mid February. You'll have to put up with my crazy screetching fiddle 'til the end of March!! Hope you're up for it! Looking forward to getting back to class, and out of sub zero wind chills!
