We practiced building the main melody for the beginning of of "Sweet Home Chicago" using arpeggio notes out of the chord forms. The chord notes automatically provide most of the melody for the song. So in the key of E, the notes that go along with the words "come on" are played out of the E chord.......and the notes that go along with "baby doncha want to" are played out of the A-chord. Then on the word "go", you switch back to the E-chord. Play the melody notes out of those chord forms.
