We spent the last blues session working blues riffs into the song "Key to the highway" in the key of A.. The riff that we call the "matchbox blues riff" had to be modified for the KTTH song progression, but that's OK, as this is quite often necessary to fit the song being played. KTTH is a different progression from the normal 12-bar blues. We cut out the last couple notes and put in a walk-up from the 4 of the A-riff to the 1 of the E-riff to make the transition sound right (tough to describe in words but it does sound good). Need to work on fitting our riffs into KTTH, with its modified blues progression.
