Minor Pentatonic

Mandolin: tuned to 5ths and 4ths
Guitar: tuned to 4ths and 5ths
Banjo: C

What note is missing out of a major pentatonic scale? 4
The box is 1,2,3,5
On Mandolin, the box is L shaped. On other instruments it is a box.

On major and minor scales the only note that is different is the 3

The box of common notes in maj or min scale, all of the 4 common notes will be used.
When playing a maj or min pentatonic, 3 of the 4 notes will be used.
So 3 of those 4 notes will make up the pentatonic scale, maj or minor.

Q How do use the box to determine the maj and min penta scale:
1st : You don’t eliminate the 1 and 5. The 2 corners will always be applicable.
2nd: Of the other 2 corners, one is used for minor P and the other for maj P. This narrows it down to 3 notes of the 5 in a P

Of the 4 notes, u eliminate a note depending on Maj or Min.
