TOPIC: Fetmentor's Blues Class - Class 5

Hello Everyone

Here is a summary of some of the things we covered in last night's Blues class:

1. We started by discussing how the drum and bass tracks can be used to your benefit in learning how to play 12 bar blues in every Key.

2. We addressed finding the target notes and playing them with a 12 bar blues rhythm as whole, quarter, half, 8ths and swing 8th notes. I also explained how to find the target root from octave to octave.

3. A brief discussion of creating riffs and lick and using them to improvise. You will find some riffs to get you started in the blues materials.

4. The songs were briefly reviewed. We will address these more next week.

Practice Tip: when using the drum and bass tracks, loop or repeat the track within either quicktime, media player or Itunes.
