Here is a very informative look at how a banjo is made. Courtesy of First Quality Music:

Thanks for posting that link! I've heard of a segment on the "How It's Made" show on TLC (Discovery?) and I've been watching for it. Never thought to look on YouTube!

Sandy and I had the chance to meet Jeff Sullivan at the FQMS store and workshop, and he gave me quite a tour. Pretty impressive. They really are "First Quality" people all the way, and they make a heck of a banjo! (I've got two)

I look forward to meeting you in person some day and picking a bit with you.

Cheers,
Chris

Alas, from my office it's a 90 mile drive to the class, and I rarely leave work before 6:30 or 7. I'll try to make it next time I'm off on a Wednesday, but that may be a while. Someday!

I live in south Broward, south and west of Ft. Lauderdale, but I work in Coral Gables, which is south of downtown Miami. Work is 30 miles south of home, and Jupiter is 60+ miles north.

Making it from work to the Wednesday class means 2 hours with a quarter million of my best friends on I-95. For a while last winter, I was able to work Wednesdays out of a Broward office, and I was able to make a few of the classes, but not now.

Cheers,
Chris
