TOPIC: MacArthur Park BG Jam?

I am planning to attend a bluegrass jam, Sunday 4/19. Idon't have much info about this but the park attendant said it is still going. I propose this may be a chance for us to play outside the closet, i mean classroom.

Is MacArthur Park local?

It just so happens that the regular guy can't make it so the organizer wants us to fill in!!! OMG.... Very informal setting. Just a little round pavillon. This is kind of last minute but the more people we have the better! 1-4 SUN Just put away those excuses and show up. pick a little and have fun!

I know this is late but maybe not . I think this is the last Thursday of the month. This is more of a listen to the pros, the group that is the regular are very good. The name is not in my memory bank.

Just an update. Three of us "dementi" ( Steve, Keith and Henry) were joined by two other walk up country players to fill in for the MacArthur Park BG jam. I count it as a success because people actually stayed after we returned from our break! We just kept it simple and practiced our songs. I added a few additional fiddle tunes and our new country music friends sang a few standards. Overall a very big step for us but rewarding. Hope to do some more like it.

Pretty weird. I got to MacArthur at about 1:40 and played in rotation for about a hour and a half. Did we play at the same place? I played with a couple called the conch stomp string band, a girl from California, a park ranger volunteer and a guitar played who sang folk and some blues.
Maybe you'd finished and left before I got there.
