TOPIC: DUH!!!!!

In class Wednesday FM asked me if I could take the lead with Silent Night.....for the life of me I couldn't do it....the fingers were trying to position what the brain was telling them to do...to no avail ....It wasn't until Thursday morning that I realized I was trying to apply "guitar fingering" to a mandolin!!! I learned Silent Night on the guitar.....not the mandolin....GEEZZZ!!!! So I better get busy now and learn it on Mandy!

Yeah, I keep trying to do things that you can only do on the mando on the fiddle, and that you can only do on the fiddle on the mando, like trying to slur the bow on the mando is always interesting. I need to start working the Christmas tunes on the mando so that I can try to bring it to the Christmas class.
I promise to also try to make it to some more classes in December. My writing class ends on the 4th, so that should make things a little bit easier. Fun as it is and as much as I love it (and AWANA, which will also take a little break in December), it's hard to get everything done. I've had an absolute blast with writing class, though.
