TOPIC: PICTURE DAY!

PICTURE DAY! 11 years 10 months ago #6727

Yesterday's class surely was fun! Having our pictures taken at Du Bois Park was great. I used to volunteer at the Du Bois home when it was opened for tours and always loved the scenery so being there brought back a lot of memories. Also the "lagoon" was my nephews' favorite place to go swimming....we'd spend 6 days straight there when they were visiting....now they are in college and High School so the visits are not as often. However, again I go off to something else....what I intended to say was that the BEST part was playing in the pavillion. FM made us stand up to play and I liked that a lot....until the "no-seeums" showed up.....but maybe we can have more "field trips".....it felt more like a jam than a class.....Loved it! :)

I would have to agree. We should play out as a class more often, maybe once a month or so. i noticed people passing by were quite interested.
We used to take the lagoon passage back to the rope swing. I like Dubois, and the jetty. Used to surf there alot, but the engineers messed with the sand bar, and the waves went south
literally, to the pier.

Amen to that, Tigerpaws!! I used to play there every once in a while when I was little...alot of fun times there.
Yeah, playing at the pavilion was really fun. It was like an real jam!!:) (I've never been to a true jam, I'm sad to say. I guess there's Florida Southern and then there's Southern Southern, and that's just all there is to it.:()
Hmmm....field trip ideas...Nashville...blues festival...Cuba...NYC?? My hopes are a little high I think.;) (Blues festival is an idea, though.)

Sure, why not?? You bring the plantains, FM can bring the bluegrass, and I'll bring the sombreros...or is that Mexico??
A Latin-type swing on a bluegrass tune would be fun, though. A salsa variation on "Will the Sombrero Fly Away??" "9 Pound Burrito"?..."Old Jose Bendito??" Come on, give me some ideas.:)
