Last Wednesday one of the ladies that sits at my mom's table for lunch asked me when we were going to play again (we had done the Sing-along on the 26th) I told her she had to wait till Easter when we went back to Baton Rouge but then talking to Sam we decided that we could just "play" our guitar and mandolin for them the next day while they ate lunch.
My mom thought it was a great idea so we did just that....As we played I noticed that one little lady who sits at a table by herself stood up and started swaying to the music and clapping and just having a great time (we were playing mostly FM's songs). Turns out that when young she was the back up guitar to her husband who is now deceased. She now has early Alzheimer and comes in and out of the "the present"...but for at least 30 minutes she was in a time of her life that she really enjoyed....God only knows what those memories were... Music is such a gift!!!!
