TOPIC: Performing Songs With Vocals

Performing Songs With Vocals 14 years 8 months ago #1817

For two weeks in a row, our buddy and banjo picker Steve Prece has stepped to the mic and performed his break vocally.....last week on Nine Pound Hammer and last night, very impromptu I might add, on Old Joe Clark, being performed by a group Steve had not been assigned to. I have thoroughly enjoyed this and it definitely enhances the bluegrass feel of the song. I would say the entire group has apparently enjoyed the vocals addition as well, based on their rowdy, appreciative responses. Thanks Steve for the added enjoyment, keep up the good vocals.....anymore "shower singers" out there ready to step up to the mic and enhance our class performance/enjoyment?!

I agree with you. Thanks Steve! Vocals really make it more interesting for the players and the audience. Extra points on the group rating!

I agree. That was fun to listen to and it adds a whole new dimension to the songs. Thanks Steve, and all you other singers too.

Thank you guys, I sing all the time around the house and at work. My boss likes me to sing solo- so low he can't hear me; my S.O. likes it when i sing tenor- ten or twenty mile away. You don't even want to know what my kids have to say about it. I can't take credit for the class singing though. We had a guy in a previous class 6 months ago or so that sang every song he played and I just thought it was great. Then Gerry started comming to class and singing a few songs, that realy gave me incouragement to jump in myself. I only wish I knew the lyric to more of the songs. I know I don't sing well, I play the banjo even worse, but I'm willing. Thanks again for the the accolades.
