I hope you all are doing well after a challenging year and a half, where this pandemic has modified the way we live. There have been many challenges to music teachers, as well as many small businesses. For instance, Community education classes, which were closed for the first time since I have been teaching there, helped to entice new students to my other classes. So the ability to get new students has dissipated until at least the fall of this year. When the bluegrass class was forced to close for the first time since I started it in 2003, some of the students have continued online with free sessions. The blues class and theory classes also have been successfully held each week online.
With more people becoming vaccinated, the time has come to safely meet in person again. The good news is that the studio has stayed opened (while terminating only one side of their lease) and they welcome us back. Uncertainty exists, however, since I haven't heard from some students who were regulars in the class. So I assume we will be starting with a smaller group. Yet, since a percentage of the money for the class goes to studio rental, it has to be cost effective for me to hold the class. The bottom line is, I need to have a confirmation of the number of people who are interested in returning. So please RSVP.

Blues Class - This class continues to do well and we have agreed to meet in person as we did in the past before the bluegrass class. There are some spots available if you wish to join us. The fee is $60 per six week sessions. There is also a one time materials fee for 29 new riffs and a couple shuffle patterns. Class time will be from 6:30-7:20pm
Bluegrass Class - The students online have expressed an interest to continue this class. So starting this Wednesday, a new term of bluegrass will coincide with the blues class term like before. The fee is $60 per six week sessions. Class time will be from 7:45-9:00pm. There are two new songs that were recently released. So there is a one time materials fee.
Once again, I need a head count to prepare for these classes accordingly. Those who RSVP in the postivie will receive a follow up email on Monday of Tuesday regarding location of the classes.
