TOPIC: Happy 1st Birthday to my Banjo!

Happy 1st Birthday to my Banjo! 13 years 5 months ago #4153

Well it has been a year since I decided to find an instructor and buy a Banjo. So here I am. Lessons, classes, and new friends. And to think it started with a Google search for "Banjo Instructor Jupiter Florida". It has been interesting, educational, frustrating, and above all it has given me something to do just for fun. Here is to many more anniversaries with my new friend my Banjo.

Anybody else have any musical anniversaries?

If you could....would you change to a different banjo maker?

I love my Banjo, and was really impressed that Jeff Sullivan was so helpful to me. He provided his cellular number to me and walked me through each step of the process. I have not played any other brands. The level of customer service that was provided by Sullivan will keep me there.

I would love to have a Fiddle, and I also have a Dulcimer. Just never have time for anything other than the Banjo right now. But the Fiddle has really got my interest. How are you doing with yours?

Happy anniversary to you and your banjo!

You bought well with your Sullivan, both in terms of the instrument and the company behind it. I know, I have two. I've met both Jeff and Eric, and you'll never do business with two nicer guys. There are a lot of folks on the Hangout and other places that will quickly point out that you can buy a fancier banjo, but not a better banjo than the Festival. (Now is where others jump to the defense of their banjo maker :-)

Don't be bashful about picking up a different instrument if you come across one. We bought the first mandolin on a lark, and three years later Pinky is pickin' it pretty good. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can learn the basics of a new instrument. If you find a decent fiddle at a garage sale, go for it!
