TOPIC: chromatic runs

How do you play those fast little chromatic runs that are placed in certain spots in some of the songs? Sounds like single sixteenth notes, ascending or decending. Kind of stands out when heard in the meleody , or even backup.

Those chromatic runs are nothing that a good lesson or two can't teach you.

The chromatics on the guitar are on the 5th 7th and 12th fret and up further at similar intervals.
Should be the same for banjo and mando. You put your finger lightly on the string with almost no pressure and remove it quickly just at the moment you pick the string. It takes a little practice and a quality instrument makes it a lot easier. The 12th fret is usually the easiest to get.

I meant the harmonics, rather than the chromatics but these things sound good too.
