Cool new tool 12 years 9 months ago #5538

Ever since i started playing guitar, i thought how cool it would be if i had a fretboard that i could take with me when i'm not actually playing. In fact, at one time i thought about buying a pawn shop junker, and de-capitating it, but that seemed like sacrilidge. I stumbled across something in Fretmentor's guitar concepts CD. By the way, if you don't have it, get it, there is alot of useful info in there that i missed, like tag licks, runs in the various keys, etc. Anyway, Fretmentor advised that beginning players need to build dexterity and strength in the fingers for proper chording. One thing he mentioned was a practice fretboard. I did some quick googling, and found there are such devices. A guitar neck, with the head stock and strings, scaled to the 7th fret. Perfect for building calluses and learning chord mechanics without having your axe!
