In Week 3 of the ukulele class, we covered the following

1. The major scale and its importance to playing music was addressed

2. We stated to review the Major chord charts

3. I explained how the major chord relates to the Major Scale

4. I demonstrated how we can play an Open Major chord and move it as a closed Major Chord up the next of the instrument.

5. I explained the inlay on the instrument

6. We discussed basic major chord progressions that are used in playing a song.

Questions:

What is a major scale?

What is a Major chord?

What do we mean by open chord forms versus closed chord forms.

Using one major chord form, how many chords can you make from the one form?

What are the inlays (dots) used for and where are they located.

What is an octave and where is it located in relation to all the open note strings?


Print out your songs and we will start to work on some of the basic tunes in the next class.

Print out your major and minor chord charts.

Complete you scale templates from A to G using the musical alphabet. There are answer pages for each template.
