TOPIC: Five String Banjo Class #3

Five String Banjo Class #3 4 months 4 weeks ago #9515

In class # three, I discussed and demonstrated the following

1. playing a major scale up one string and using multiple strings

2. Three positions to make major chords on the fingerboard (using G as an example)

3. A forward roll using the 5th, 3rd and 1st strings with a hook.

Please print out Amazing Grace and Duelin Banjos and start to work on these tunes.

Questions

What is a major chord?

Why are the positions titled Position 1, Position 2, Position 3

Can you diagram the three chords numberically?
