TOPIC: What picks Do you Use???

I have tried lots of finger picks and my favorites are 1941's and, Bob Perry Cobalts. These are comfortable and sound good.

My thumb picks of choice are Slick picks. The slick picks are nice and short and don'g get caught.

I use the cheapest Dunlop's from First Quality Music (on sale) and usually lose them or give them away before I wear them out.

I sm using the brass propicks. Tried the Dunlops and new old nationals, but the bands on the propicks are more comfortable for me. I also use a medium National thumbpick in the tortoisy plastic.

If you call first quality they can give you a whole assortment of picks.... I ordered a handful of thumbpicks before i found what i really liked. They're cheap so just get a ton of them and check out which is the winner.

Also, the brass finger picks seem to bend a lil easier for me, but they leave that green tint if you play more than a half hour.

How about starting a group pick tryout box? I'm sure all of us have picks we no longer use (particularly thumb picks) that we could contribute to the cause. Put one in and take one out. I know I certainly have some I could contribute. I just hate long thumbpicks!

Still experimenting so no brand loyalty - yet. Still in the search fro something reasonably comfortable for my meat hooks, a.k.a. fingers.
Aside, I've been banjoless for a few months. Now sporting a new Deering Sierra and lovin it! I'm probaly on the cusp of being an intermediate but then ten years from now I'll still be a beginner ;}
