Great video of Keb Mo' - and some great guitar work!
Like you said - would love to be able to play like that -sigh!

Seagull guitars have a interesting background - they are made by a Canadian company in French-Quebec called 'LaSiDo'. It took me a few years to realize that the name is derived from the last 3 notes of the musical scale Do-Re-Mi - duh!!
They manufacture 8 varieties of guitars - the Seagull is their bread & butter model. I happen to own a 'Simon & Patrick' acoustic also made by them (& named after the owner's 2 sons - who are also in the business) - which I bought in 1990(-ish). I played it for about 15 years - before moving on to a Takamine. Last Xmas I picked it up again and realized why I enjoyed it so much - it had a rich bass end -great for singing acompaniment in a group. By comparison - the Takamine has a sweet spot at the high treble-end strings - and I prefer it for bluegrass. The frets were worn on the S&P - it buzzed a lot -so the guitar is now in the shop getting the fret-wire replaced. Looking forward to getting back to playing it.

We have a LaPatrie Classical guitar that is also made by the same company. I like it.

How it's done.

Guitar, bass, mandolin, voice in perfect alignment. As they should be. My favorite old pros and their take of an old Rev. Gary Davis tune. Masters.

How to abuse a Telecaster.

This guy, Danny Gatton, was probably the baddest dude to ever play guitar. He was not famous but other guitar players, famous and not so famous, called him "The Humbler" since that's what he did when he played. He was from the DC area and played jazz, bluegrass, rock, blues, rockabilly, pretty much any style with incredible dazzling technique.

Here's one of his "parlor tricks". Makes me dizzy just watching it.

I was going to try that beer bottle trick, but then I figured I ought to learn how to play with just my fingers first.:S

Another incredible performance. Dynamics, timing, tone, vocals, it's got it all. Bass tone heaven, too, from the great Oteil Burbridge. OMG!!!! From the Crossroads Festival.
