Eric Clapton - one of the greates blues guitarist -you're right - his fingerwork is mesmerising!
One my alltime blues favorites is Josh White - a great blues singer - which I saw in the 60's - at some folk music festival.
He played his guitar hard - beating it up pretty hard- and always with a lit cigarette stuck somehwere in the guitar headstock.
Here's one my favs - Nobody Knows You When You're and Out

Great song and good video - "When You're Down and Out" and Josh White does a fantastic job with it. Is Josh still around? He must me 1,000 years old by now! and who is the female singer? She's got a great "smoky/bluesy" voice.

I call this the antidote for overprocessed autotuned under-written and under=played music industry crap. Just voice, guitar, and fantastic songwriting. All in one. This guy is from my hometown, New Rochelle, NY. I love the sound of his guitar here....

More videos.
Two versions of the same song. The first one is from a tribute on MTV from the RR Hall of Fame with an all-star lineup. Notable for the SECOND guitar break, at the end. That dude with the red hat (we all know who he is), would you say he knows his fretboard all the way up and down? WOW!!!Who can you spot that you recognize on that stage?
Next up, the same song, from ANOTHER tribute concert, a great one, if you ever want to watch something special.
Another star-studded, fun, performance that left me a bit teary-eyed. Look out for who is playing and singing on this one.
GH's son is on stage in both shows, he's a dead ringer for his dad, who was one of my all time favorite musicians. I miss him terribly.
