Hey Edbird...Another great video!... I saw the Allman brothers in the New Haven Arena when they were back on tour after Duane died....Had my fingers in my ears for the entire concert - as I was sitting smack up against a speaker...arrrrggg!

Also.. I see you went to Wolfgang's vault to get the video....someone else just suggested it to me.. I'm looking for John McGlaughlin at Woolsey Hall in New Haven....best concert I ever saw!

mp: I saw John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra twice in NYC the last century (1970's). Once at Philharmonic Hall and once at the Schaefer Skating Rink in Central Park where tickets were $2.00. And saw him again about two years ago in Miami at the Arscht Center with Chick Corea and the "Five Peace Band"...great show. It was more than $2.00 this time.

One of the finest musicians around, bass player Abe Laboriel, Sr., puts a six string electric bass through it's paces at an exhibit booth at the NAMM trade show a few months ago. Stunning display of groove, skills, musicality.

PS His son, Abe Laboriel, Jr, is also a fantastic musician. Besides being a great singer, he is Paul McCartney's drummer!!

PPS Anyone else going to see Jeff Beck tonight at Sunfest? Hope to catch some of Earth, Wind and Fire's set too. Wow!!

Jeff Beck put on a heck of a display of his guitar skills Sunday night. My son and his fellow guitar-playing friends were dazzled. I left about 2/3 through his set to catch Earth Wind and Fire, who threw a party for about 15,000 happy people. These guys are incredible. The groovin kings!! Their audience was a blender full of every type of person, young, old, all colors and races, they appeal to everyone....great band, with one of my favorite bass players, Verdine White, a founding EWF member....the three original members (including lead singer Phillip Bailey) are all 60 years old. They rock!

See if you can keep still for this...not my video...
