I'm REALLY glad I was able to attend this year! The concert was great! Being in such a intimate environment makes it so much better. Being close enough to watch a musician (musicians) at work is just amazing. As great as that was, the workshop was even better. Listening to Uwe talk about what it is he likes, does, has done to get where he is today with his music is inspiring. Playing along with him was pretty cool too.

Please show it to me again in class next week. There were other strums that he showed us that need to be visited again. Do you remember them?

I hope next year that the Kruger Bros. play the concert at a larger venue - as the did last year at the Four Arts Center as I would like to invite more friends. It's certainly incorrect to advertise them as a Bluegrass Concert - I like to think of them as balladeers-musicians. While their concert definitely contains bluegrass - their repertoire is much broader. This is the second year my wife came to see the concert. While she enjoys bluegrass - she anticipated -at the 1st concert-2 hrs of straight bluegrass music. She never anticipated that they would be such great entertainers and storytellers - talking of their days playing on cruise ships, bars etc. She heard music from movie themes, classical music on the banjo, and touching ballads. She was also amazed by their playing abilities on banjo & guitar. I firmly believe that the uninitiated are hesitant to come to one of their concerts - thinking they would hear 2 hrs of mountain music about corn liquor- but I know they would come away pleasantly surprised!
