Yes indeed. The met definitely helps develop a mental feel for the tempo of a tune. I guess it's like tuning your ear for music, it will be automatic after awhile. Just have to practice with it. When i'm learning chord progressions, i'll use it. Trying to learn the Wildwood Flower chord progression, i'll set the met for a 1/4 note value @ 55 BPM, and bass/strum on the count of the met. This song is challenging, i give all you players props for playing it so well. I got on U tube to see how other players play the rhythm, I got winded watching those guys play it. But i also noticed there was a point where it didn't sound very good at very fast speeds. I think it sounds best at 80-100 BPM.
