Starting to learn something about Piedmont style - with alternating bass & treble on guitar -great music. Here is some classic music with John Cephas and Phil Wiggins with Richmond Blues

Great clips, ponhook. Check out Roy Book Binder, Toby Walker, and Woody Mann for some other fantastic modern (ie-still alive) fingerstyle players who play Piedmont style.

But it's time to start the New Year off with some kick-ass surf music. One of the great covers of all time. By a contemporary guitar player. I love this CD.

Great Surf music by Junior Brown

Looked up his biography - pretty interesting background - started as a Ernest Tubb's fan - all great musicians start as bluegrassers!!

Check out a photo of him playing - double neck guitar - it appears to be guitar on top and a mando(8-strings)on the bottom?
