I have been practicing this song and just cannot get the music from the banjo to sound like what I am humming, whistling, or listening to. Frustrating. On the other hand I am practicing which is god.

I have the same problem, I think I have no problem with "Will the circle be unbroken" but I do have a problem with nine pound hammer. When I play it, it does not sound like I hear others play it. It sounds like two very diffent songs.

I was having the same problem. I started trying to play along with a recording of the song and to my amazement my picking seemed to fit in a lot better and even resembled the tune at times.
