I totally LOVED the strum that UWE showed us....the "latin/Island" one...with thumb-strum down/up and then sweep of hand....did anyone record it???? I MUST add it to my "library" of strums...(Will be the third strum in that baby !)

My favorite part of the workshop was the concert! Peanut butter balls were a close second.

The great thing about the concert was being up so close to the Kruger Brothers while they were playing. I remember the Kruger concert last year at the Society of the Four Arts, and that was a great show, but the stage was fairly far away. The entire workshop was a great event again this year. Looking forward to another one next year.

Really a very good experience overall. Does anyone remember what Uwe said about finding Pete Seeger's "How to play 6 String Guitars"? I logged onto the Smithsonian website but could not find the download for the free book. Anyone else have any success?

My highlight was the 'sock style strum' used in the Hank Williams song -'Your Cheating Heart' - I finally know how to do this song correctly! Yes the peanut butter balls were right up there with highlights - I inhaled 3 of them before the concert!! then quietly stepped back to leave some for others!

Loved the concert - I think that by including us in the concert - as 'accompaniment practice'- would have taken away from the performance. Glad we didn't bring our instruments in! They are not only great musicians but great entertainers as well - with great stories to tell.

My favorite part of the workshop was the whole thing!! And getting to play with him and seeing my son play with him!! But really, all of it. I missed the PB balls somehow....

The rhythm for "La Bamba" was pretty cool too!!
