Well, I have two paraqueet's that listen to me play...Sweet Pea and Pickle......when they hear me start to play....they start chortling...sometimes bobbing their heads up and down...they gradually get worked up...louder and louder...and particularly with "Old Joe Clark" and "Boil them Cabbage", they get even more excited and mix chortling with shreeking!...I think its because those two songs have a higer pitch (Key of A)....but I tell everybody it is because those are thier favorite songs.

Our cat Ginger listens to me play. I have my play space in the living room and she has a tall "cat tree" across the room where she hang out when she's not going after a lizard or trying to get my wife to give her a treat. She can be quite the critic. Sometimes when I'm playing a song she doesn't like she'll jump down and go in another room or ask to go outside. She seems to like Amazing Grace, Ashokan Farewell, and most recently, Old Joe Clark. She just sits there and purrs during those. But she doesn't like me playing scales or Arkansas Traveler. Maybe it's the way I play them.
