Last year I managed to come up with a break for Under the Double Eagle that borrowed some from Fretmentors Tab and the balance was pieced together with enough melody notes to enable one to identify the tune.
My initial goal was to follow the tab but I found out that the tab has too mnay notes to allow me to play it at a moderately fast tempo so I drop a lot of the notes.
I was never happy with my "cludged" version because it was a combination of rolls and single notes and it doen't sound good when played at a fast tempo either.
So, I have already started to try to "fix" the break by adapting as much of the Tab as I can and still maintain the ability to play it a a reasonably fast tempo.
Does anybody else find themselves taking this approach on this or any other song?
