I have thought that a metronome would be a handy device to have for the small groups. I know Im guilty of breaking time and speeding up so this is the pot calling the kettle black but Im amazed by the fact that while practicing in the small group we can work a song at a good time but when when showtime comes it goes out the window. Im looking for a BIG metronome to bring to class.
Amen to that. For some reason, my problem is keeping a steady rhythm on the backup. I always want to (or rather, whether I want to or not) accomodating the lead player, no matter at what tempo they come in at.
