Benefits of Last Work-shop Are Paying off 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 2
I attended the last Fretmentor work-shop and was in Al Munde's Banjo session. Al provided more material and information that one could absorb in the 2 day work-shop. But the one thing he stressed above all was to practice fretting the G-modal scale in the 3 basic chord shapes and mixing up various rolls in each position. The benefit of the practice is that with this excersize one would learn, thru osmosis, where all of the notes in the g-scale lie on the fretboard and in time you would naturally put your fingers in those places.

I can say that I have been practicing the excersize and it is very powerful. I can already notice that Im playing improvised tunes that came to me on the fly and it is freeing up my playing.
